In 1988, former President Ronald Reagan declared the month of October as National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness month. To commemorate this declaration, we will host our 8th Annual Breakfast and Balloon Release on October 13 from 10a - 12p.  We hope you will make plans to join us as we remember our babies.

What should I expect at this event?

This is a very casual event.  We start out by eating breakfast and move on to a short program that includes a speaker, special music, a prayer and a time to write a message to our babies on our balloons.  We walk outside to release the balloons at the end of the ceremony.

Is there a fee to participate in the Breakfast & Balloon Release?

No. M.E.N.D. is proud to offer all of our services and ceremonies at no cost to the families that participate.  Donations are accepted and appreciated at any time throughout the year.

Can family members and friends come with me?

Absolutely. Children are welcome too. Please only register for the number of people old enough to sit in their own seat and have their own balloon(s).

What if I have registered for the Breakfast & Balloon Release and the number of people I registered as attending has changed — or I am now unable to attend?

Please do not register again. Instead, please contact Kathryn Gold to report your updated information..

What do I bring to display on the Memory Table?

We have tables set up for you to display items in honor of your baby.  Families bring photos, shadow boxes, stuffed animals, scrapbooks, etc. to set up on the tables and share with others.  We offer small cards you can fill out to tell others your baby’s name, DOB/DOD, and write a little note of love.  Bringing items for the Memory Tables is optional and there is no cost to display items.  Please be sure to claim your items at the conclusion of the ceremony.

How can I order a brick to be placed in the M.E.N.D. Garden of Hope?

The M.E.N.D. Garden of Hope was dedicate in October 2016 and is located in Irving, TX.  You DO NOT have to live in Texas to have a brick in the Garden, however, 2018 brick orders are now closed.  Bricks in the Garden of Hope are installed once a year just before the DFW Walk to Remember each October.  If you are interested in ordering a brick, you can place your order on our webpage under Garden of Hope.  2019 brick orders will be open from October 6, 2019 through July 15, 2019.  Bricks ordered during that time will be installed prior to the 2019 Walk to Remember.
